In 2011, pollster Social Weather Stations asked the public: Who are our genuine Filipino heroes? The three who topped the poll were Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio — and Ninoy Aquino.
That was 14 years ago, the entire length of basic school education and then some. So much has happened since. What does the public think of Ninoy now? More importantly, what can the people learn from Ninoy today?
In this episode of In the Public Square, Rappler columnist John Nery is joined by the stewards of the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation.
The longtime president of the Foundation is social enterprise advocate Rapa Cojuangco Lopa, while its executive director is Kiko Aquino Dee, the political scientist who has been in the news recently because of his impeachment advocacy.
