An Honest Talk About Language & Why I Can't Seem To Learn Spanish.

This is a very embarrassing situation for me. Even after four years living in Ecuador I still can't understand the locals when they speak to me in Spanish. The isolation this causes is serious! This is not a motivational video, this is more of a serious talk about how hard language learning is, and why you need to take it very seriously if you're going to move to a new country that doesn't speak your language. Have you ever wondered what it might be like to start a new life in a different country? I'm from Brisbane, Australia, and since 2000 I've lived abroad in the United Kingdom, the United States, and now Ecuador. That's more than 25 years of navigating different countries, visa systems, and the realities of life in a foreign culture. I can talk with you about the pros and cons of living abroad and help you decide whether it's a realistic, sustainable option for your situation. Together, we can look beyond the fantasy and take an honest look at what this lifestyle is really like.
