In the first verse the sun glows behind the peak but doesn't rise yet. It breaks over the ridge when the band comes in. He praises God on the mountaintop, walks on through the valley, and runs uphill through the rain, "as to win the prize." In every chorus he stands on a great rock while the mountains shake and the heavens fall around him, and the rock never moves. The last chorus fills the valley with rising lanterns, a congregation singing together. The song ends under the stars with the first light of a new dawn.
