Put some respect on his name. Toshiya "Don't Call It A Brick" Sumi
I've always been interested in Sepia. I have said, "He is too swaggy to suck". Turns out, I was right. As probably the only Sepia 5 star weapon haver in the global server, I'm here to bring his truth.
Sepia's 5 star weapon description:
Increase attack by 30%. Increase damage of Sonnet of Fate by 33%. After gaining a Verse, 10% chance to gain special verse: Verse of Zenith. Verse of Zenith triggers all effects of Verse of Passion, Healing and Hate on next Sonnet of Fate.
What this means is he has a 10% chance to gain a verse that allows him to: do almighty damage, inflict curse, and provide healing to the party on his next Sonnet of Fate. In all honesty, I had my doubts. He sucks without his 5 star weapon, like absolutely sucks. But with his 5 star weapon? Man does he pump out damage numbers.
I decided to put him up against a (mostly) single target fight to test his capabilities out. I also recently pulled Vino's 5 star weapon recently so this was also a bit of a test run for her. I had Sepia on dps, Vino on debuffing, Soy for dmg taken up and minor healing, Okyann for dmg increase and Wonder on support with Rebellion Dionysus and Mediarama Parvati with the All In dagger for extra sustainability.
The biggest challenge was trying to make sure Sepia didn't get mahamaon'd to death turn 2, and Vino didn't get agidyned to death later. I focused Sepia and Soy on the minions and had Vino aoe the minions down so Sepia could finish with s2 or s3. Wonder focused on healing the team back up so they didn't get instakilled by mahamaon. I did try this team with Chord instead of Soy, but that team scored 1.5m points lower.
The final damage phase consisted of one turn of setup and one turn of guns for multi hit. Fun fact about Soy Sepia, Soy's gun gives Sepia around 40 verses and can give him multiple Zenith verses, allowing him to followup 3-4 actions in a row.
All in all, I think Sepia is a very good character IF you have his 5 star. Like Kotone, Sepia definitely needs it for his cycling. I wouldn't recommend his 5 star over someone like Chord or Vino, but if you have some resources to spare and want to invest in a fun character, I highly recommend pulling Sepia's 5 star. Might make some more Sepia video, as I do like him and want to spread the truth that he doesn't suck.
