In Hat Yai, a joint operation—conducted by the Songkhla Immigration Bureau’s investigative team, the Special Branch Police, and Border Patrol Police Company 43—led to the arrest of individuals involved in a human smuggling network. The suspects were intercepted in a vehicle while picking up two Chinese nationals—a man and a woman—from a lodging in Hat Yai. The pair had previously entered Thailand illegally by crossing the border from Malaysia via a natural, unofficial route in Narathiwat province and were en route to Bangkok. The network was allegedly coordinated by 34-year-old Pan Yutong, a former flight attendant for a Chinese airline who had resigned to pursue further studies in Thailand. She reportedly managed the logistics for transporting individuals, handling both those entering the country illegally and those arriving through legal channels. A total of five suspects were arrested during the operation in a single day: three Chinese nationals, one Thai national, and one national of Vanuatu.
