THE DARK KNIGHT RISES - WHAT was Nolan thinking?!?

Does The Dark Knight Rises truly understand Batman and the characters that make his world so compelling? In this video, I revisit Christopher Nolan’s final Batman movie to explore how well it adapts these iconic comic book characters, now that I’ve spent more time reading some of Batman’s most influential comics. From Batman’s detective skills and commitment to Gotham City to Catwoman’s complicated morality, Bane’s ambition, and Talia al Ghul’s motivations, I’m looking at what this movie gets right, what it changes, and where those changes miss the mark. Nolan understands Batman’s mission and his struggle to keep going, but does that come at the expense of the characters themselves? Let’s talk about The Dark Knight Rises, comic book adaptations, and what it really means to stay true to Batman without simply copying the comics. Support the Channel: Brian W.
