Ashwamedh performed its annual street production 2022-23 “Kab Tak 44” at IIT Bombay’s Mood Indigo- Asia’s largest cultural festival. The theme of our street play revolves around one of the most pressing and debated issues in our society - the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) implementation. Through this powerful and thought-provoking drama, we aim to shed light on the various ways in which politics and religion manipulate and impact people's personal lives, often indirectly. Our play raises pertinent questions about the need for a uniform set of laws that govern personal matters such as marriage, divorce, inheritance, and adoption, and how these laws can affect individuals of all religions and communities. We explore the complexities and nuances of the issue, highlighting the various perspectives and opinions that exist. Jai Ashwamedh!
