I joined the Army for the benefits and to prove a point. Then somebody called me talking about DEPLOYMENT?! In episode 2 of Harder to Keep, I'm telling y'all how I ended up spending eight years in the Army Reserve, why I joined in the first place, and the moment I realized I might've gotten myself into something I wasn't ready for. We're talking about everything from working at McDonald's and almost failing statistics to getting a call about deployment in the middle of the mall and learning some lessons I still carry with me today. The Army taught me a lot about discipline, showing up for myself, and doing the hard things even when I didn't feel ready. Would I do it all again? Absolutely. Would I join today?
