Welcome back to African Family Homestead! ❤️🏡🇺🇬 Join us for another beautiful afternoon of real and authentic African village life as Mama Jane prepares a delicious traditional dinner of beef stew and millet posho, locally known as kalo, while we continue building our new chicken and duck house. 🐔🦆🥩❤️ Today’s episode begins with our boda boda rider arriving from the market and carpenter’s workshop, bringing wooden boards, fresh beef and ingredients for our family meal. Mama Jane and Taata Musa carefully carry the wooden boards to our poultry house, where construction is continuing. Meanwhile, Andrew helps by taking the meat and other ingredients into the house. Our poultry house is slowly taking shape! 🐔🦆🏡 The workers are now installing and securing wooden roof supports in preparation for covering the roof with traditional grass thatching. We are so happy to see the progress because every little improvement brings us closer to providing a comfortable home for our chickens and ducks. Meanwhile, Mama Jane begins preparing a delicious traditional African dinner for the family. ❤️ She brings out the fresh beef and calls little Fudel Moses to help her hold it while she cuts it into smaller pieces. But little Fudel would rather go and play! 😂❤️ After cutting the meat, Mama Jane carefully washes it, prepares the firewood and places the beef over the traditional cooking fire. She then cuts fresh onions, tomatoes and green peppers before adding them to the meat. As the delicious beef stew continues cooking, we return to the poultry house, where Ishmael is busy securing the wooden roof supports. Back in the outdoor kitchen, Mama Jane mixes Rayco seasoning with water and adds it to the beef stew to give it more flavour. 🥩🍲 She then prepares a second cooking fire and heats water for our traditional millet posho. Once the water is ready, Mama Jane adds millet flour and begins mingling it into a thick traditional African dish known locally as kalo. Kalo is a traditional food enjoyed in many Ugandan homes, especially when served with delicious meat sauce. ❤️🇺🇬 Finally, our dinner is ready! Mama Jane serves the freshly prepared beef stew and millet posho, and the family gathers together to enjoy another beautiful meal. These simple moments mean so much to us. From working together to improve our homestead to preparing traditional meals over firewood, this is the real everyday life of our African village family. ❤️ TO OUR BEAUTIFUL VIEWERS AROUND THE WORLD Thank you so much for your continued love, encouragement and support. Every comment, like, share and subscription means so much to Mama Jane and our entire family. We are grateful that you continue joining us on our journey as we share our authentic family life in rural Uganda. 🇺🇬❤️ Please remember to LIKE, COMMENT, SHARE and SUBSCRIBE for more African village life, traditional cooking, family activities, farming and homestead construction. 🌍 Where are you watching from today?
