Batman: Knightfall Part 1 Reaction | First Time Watching | Batman Day

In honor of Batman Day, I’m watching Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall for the first time! Bane has arrived in Gotham, and instead of simply challenging Batman head-on, he has a much more calculated plan. After Arkham Asylum is destroyed and its inmates are unleashed across Gotham, Bruce pushes himself to his physical and mental limits trying to contain the chaos while Bane waits for the perfect opportunity to strike. Based on the legendary Knightfall comic storyline from the 1990s, this is the first part of a three-film animated adaptation of Knightfall, Knightquest and KnightsEnd. The movie also brings Jean-Paul Valley, Tim Drake and the aftermath of Jason Todd's death into Bruce's story as Batman struggles with the idea that he has to carry everything himself. This is actually one of the few major Batman storylines I’ve never read in the comics. Going into this, pretty much all I knew about Knightfall was that it’s a Bane story and, of course, that this is the story where Bane breaks Batman’s back. Outside of that, I’m going into the actual story pretty much blind. So for Batman Day, it felt like the perfect time to finally experience Knightfall for myself.
