The body bore marks of an attack with a sharp-edged weapon, and the fingers on his hand had been severed. Police investigation revealed that Shantanu’s last phone call was to his friend, Ujjwal Gupta. Further inquiry uncovered a dispute regarding a transaction of ₹15,000. According to the police, Ujjwal and his associates called Shantanu to meet them. They first consumed alcohol together, after which an argument broke out over the money. It is alleged that Shantanu was then attacked with a chapar (a heavy cleaver-like weapon), resulting in his death. The police have arrested Ujjwal Gupta and other accused individuals in connection with the case. They have also stated that the weapon used in the murder—the *chapar*—and mobile phones have been recovered from the accused. Why did a friend take another friend's life over ₹15,000? Watch the full story in this video. ⚠️ Note: Details regarding the accused mentioned in the video are based on claims emerging from the police investigation and interrogation. The final truth of the matter will be determined through the judicial process.
