This was our band show from 2008. Earth: Nature's Canvas. I believe that we were 11th or 9th, I forget which. We scored in the range of a 92. The drum major that year was Danielle Class. The Battery leader was Vince Monteleon and the Pit Captain was Nathan George. The solo dancer was Kristen Geatz that played the part of Mother Earth. We had 5 parts of the show. Part 1: Earth. In earth we bring the central idea of exploring the earth, as we start as stars around the earth, and finish the movement on the earth. Part 2: Rainforest. Rainforest has the jungle beat to it. You can hear in the beginning the percussion beat surrounded by things such as the rain sticks and bird calls. The green strings are actually to represent vines, and we have our percussion feature in the vines. Let me tell you, the vines are not at all pretty or fun to march around. We end rainforest with the entire band crab stepping. Part 3: Artic. The artic was our balad. The was representation of the snow and the cold, and you can see by the huge flags at the hit that it is some massive chill. We are swayed by the artic gales in the hit, and in the very end we shiver around our instruments. Part 4: Painted Desert. Part 4 was actually named after our show in '98. It is the fast moving with strange cords part. Other than that, you just have to listen to it, and see for yourself. Part 5: Oceans. Oceans was our closer. A very fast paced movement, it centered around the water and the tides. A sweet part of Oceans was when the band makes a huge wave and the drumline makes a ship the floats up and down the wave. In the end of Oceans we bring everyone back to the Earth, to bring the show to a close in a full circle style. I hope you liked what we did, I know we loved it. If you have any questions, just ask myself or anyone else who was part of the show. P.S. I played 2nd Tenor Drums that year
