According to Smit, Alhami allegedly attacked him multiple times on the head with the emergency axe in the cockpit while claiming he wanted to pray. The captain was seriously injured and the aircraft began losing altitude rapidly. After the cockpit door was opened, passengers and crew members reportedly overpowered and restrained the co-pilot, while reserve pilots took control and landed the aircraft safely at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia. UAE and Saudi authorities have described the incident as a terrorist act. Smit’s bravery has drawn widespread praise, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu inviting him to participate in the torch-lighting ceremony on Israel’s Independence Day next year. The investigation into the alleged terrorist links of co-pilot Hamam Alhami is continuing. For latest news updates follow us on WhatsApp: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaYN...
