TRUE STORY This video is about Life deep in the ocean is one of the most mysterious wonders on Earth. Far below the surface, sunlight cannot reach, and the water is extremely cold, dark, and under enormous pressure. Yet, many living creatures survive there, including strange fish, giant squid, deep-sea jellyfish, and tiny organisms. Some deep-sea animals produce their own light through a process called bioluminescence, which helps them attract prey, find mates, or protect themselves from predators. Many have large mouths, sharp teeth, and special bodies that help them survive in this extreme environment. But how do they live without sunlight? Unlike plants on land, most deep-sea animals do not depend directly on sunlight for food. Many survive by eating smaller animals, dead organisms, and organic material that slowly sinks from the ocean above, sometimes called marine snow. Near deep-sea hydrothermal vents, some bacteria use chemicals such as hydrogen sulfide to produce energy through a process called chemosynthesis. These bacteria form the foundation of unique ecosystems where life can thrive without sunlight. The deep ocean reminds us that life can survive in places that seem impossible, and scientists are still discovering new creatures hidden in its vast darkness.
