A Hymn That Brings Peace to the Soul｜It Is Well with My Soul｜Evergreen Worship

“It Is Well with My Soul” is a timeless hymn of faith, peace, and hope. There are seasons when peace flows gently like a river, and there are seasons when sorrow rises like waves. True peace does not always mean the storm has disappeared. Sometimes, peace is knowing that God is still with us in the middle of the storm. 🎵 It Is Well with My Soul It is well with my soul. It is well with my soul. It is well, it is well with my soul. 📖 The Story Behind the Hymn The lyrics of “It Is Well with My Soul” were written by Horatio G. Spafford. In 1873, Spafford planned to travel to Europe with his wife, Anna, and their four daughters. Because of unexpected business matters, he remained in Chicago while his family traveled ahead. During the Atlantic crossing, their ship, the Ville du Havre, collided with another vessel and sank. Anna survived, but all four of their daughters were lost. After reaching safety, Anna sent her husband the heartbreaking message: “Saved alone.” Spafford then traveled across the Atlantic to join his wife. While passing near the place where his daughters had died, he wrote the words that would later become one of the most beloved hymns in Christian history. This hymn was not born in an easy season. It was born in grief, loss, and deep sorrow. And yet, in the middle of that pain, came this declaration of faith: “It is well with my soul.” 🙏 May this song bring peace to anyone walking through grief, uncertainty, fear, or a difficult season. May you be reminded that even when the waves are rising, God is still near. 📖 Scripture “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.” — John 14:27 “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1 👍 If this hymn has encouraged you, please like the video. 💬 Share your prayer or testimony in the comments. 🔔 Subscribe to Evergreen Worship for more hymns and worship music. 📤 Share this song with someone who needs peace and encouragement today. #ItIsWellWithMySoul #ChristianHymn #ClassicHymn #WorshipMusic #ChristianWorship #PeacefulWorship #Hymns #EvergreenWorship
