The mental breakdown Mystic details is entirely void of safety. The only place Mackenzie found refuge was at the apartment of a couple she was friends with. Whenever she was especially bad, her friend would tell her, "Come over. Spend the night, send the weekend, spend the week, however long it takes till you're right again." This song is about them.
"If I don't leave now, will I get away?" The first line of the song bears two interpretations -- either she is leaving her life physically through suicide or mentally through finally considering recovery. But, one question remains the same. If she cannot leave the darkness now, will she stay like this forever?

"Stay" Lyrics:
If l don't leave now, will I get away?
Who am I? Who am I? Who am I to-
Sitting on the floor of an apartment I don't own watching smoke as it slips out the window. She says if l want, I can Stay. I can Stay ifl really want 'till the feeling goes away.
If I come over now, can I sleep on your couch? I just need some time to figure this shit out. In a bare bathroom, I try to breathe as I wash my face in a dirty sink.
If I don’t leave now, will I get away?
Who am I to stay?
Da-da-da
If I don’t leave now, will I get away?
Who am I to stay?
Da-da-da
Watch him play guitar. Hear him sing along. "Do you know this song?" he asked me. "No, I don't." I replied. "You'll catch on if you try. Just sing along." he told me.
Da-da-da
If I come over now, can I sleep on your couch? I just need some time to figure this shit out. In a bare bathroom, I try to breathe as I wash my face in a dirty sink.
