MY CAT KNEW I WAS BREAKING—HIS NAME WAS HERCULES

AMG — MY CAT KNEW I WAS BREAKING—HIS NAME WAS HERCULES Some prayers have paws and fur. During one of the most painful periods of my life, my black-and-white tuxedo cat, Hercules, began doing things he had never done before. He stayed closer to home. He lay against my chest when nobody was there to hold me. He kneaded my back as though he were trying to settle the pain inside me. He never asked me to explain what had happened—and he never needed human words to understand. Hercules is fearless, independent, and fiercely protective of his freedom. He listens, but he still chooses his own path. That is why his love means so much: he is free to leave, yet when I was breaking, he chose to stay. This song is about something animal lovers have always understood. Animals are not possessions, decorations, or lesser lives. They recognize gentleness, cruelty, grief, fear, and love. Sometimes they see what is happening inside us long before another human does. Maybe God sends some of His strongest guardians without armor, swords, or wings. Sometimes they arrive quietly, place a paw over your heart, and remind you that you are not completely alone. When the human world could not reach me, Hercules did. If an animal has ever found you during your darkest hour, share their name and story in the comments. Let the world know who stayed. —JoeDigger *American Midnight Gentlemen* @AmericanMidnightGentlemen #AmericanMidnightGentlemen #JoeDigger #Hercules #CatLovers #TuxedoCat #AnimalLove #HumanAnimalBond #EmotionalSong #CountryBallad #AnimalsUnderstand #SomePrayersHavePaws #AMG
