These problems involve estimating limits at a point graphically. There are three conditions that must exist for a function to be continuous (1) the function must exist at x = a (2) the limit of the function at x = a must exist (3) the limit of the function at x = a must equal the function value at x=a The limit of a function at x=a, however, is independent of the function value at x = a.
