Battle of Checkpoint Pasta, or the Battle of the Pasta Factory was a firefight in 1993 between Italian soldiers and Somalian rebels. This was the first all-out battle for the Italians since WW2. Battle of Checkpoint Pasta was also the prelude to the Battle of Mogadishu where the famous "Blackhawk down" incident occured.
