I Didn't Expect This Kindness in Southern Thailand 🇹🇭 | Surat Thani to Pattani by Train In this Thailand travel vlog, I travel by train from Surat Thani to Pattani in Southern Thailand and experience some unexpected acts of kindness from local Thai people along the way. My journey starts in Surat Thani, Thailand, where the railway station is around 15 km from the city. I struggle to find local transport to the station, and although the people I ask cannot speak English, they still go out of their way to help me find the right way. Near the railway station, I also need to top up my mobile balance. I pay for a package at a local shop, but when the package does not activate, the shop owner kindly returns all my money. After travelling by train from Surat Thani to Pattani, I have another memorable experience. At a hotel in Pattani, I meet an elderly local man who kindly offers me a cup of tea and welcomes me with genuine warmth. This journey through Southern Thailand gives me a completely different experience of Thailand travel — local people helping a foreign traveller despite the language barrier, everyday local life, Thai hospitality and a memorable train journey from Surat Thani to Pattani.
