All Creatures Great & Small – It Takes All Kinds | Filming Locations Then & Now Join me as we return to the Yorkshire Dales and explore more filming locations from the original BBC series All Creatures Great & Small (1978–1990). In this episode, It Takes All Kinds, we follow James Herriot as he visits the Alderson family farm to treat an injured calf. Helen has known of James since he first arrived in Darrowby, but it seems he is only just beginning to notice her! Little does he know that their story will eventually lead to marriage. ❤️ As we follow the episode, I’ll share Then & Now views of the places featured in the original series, comparing screenshots from the television programme with my own photographs taken during visits to these locations over the past four years. Many of these beautiful Yorkshire Dales villages and buildings have changed surprisingly little over the decades, making it a real pleasure to revisit them.
