Little Birdie (Willie Chapman, Roscoe Holcomb)

“Little Birdie" is well-known tune that, according to the Traditional Ballad Index, was first collected by Frank C. Brown in 1909, as part of his collection of North Carolina folksongs. I learned Little Birdie from listening to Willie Chapman on the 1960s Folkways album “Mountain Music of Kentucky” and from recordings of Roscoe Holcomb. 10/8/22
