[RECORD DATE: AUGUST 15th 2026 & AUGUST 16th 2026]
Started yesterday, resumed & finished today. Basically just a playthrough of the game without getting a singular energy tank.
Also i picked up a new trick in-between the last video & this video.
The final video I'll probably make for this game unless it gets a new update that adds something new or there is a modding scene.
This game was honestly great & the devs did a real swell job on it. I do have a couple of gripes with the game however...
1. Difficulty should just be renamed into Enemy Movement Speed, considering it does not alter the way enemies inflict damage or whatever, it just modifies their base speed, their attacks are still just as fast though, which.... is okay by me ig, it just made those attacks while playing in Brutal Low% all the more stress-inducing lmao.
2. Why don't the suits reduce damage? I could have sworn the Varia, Gravity, & even the Phazon Suit reduced damage, i am personally surprised that the Phazon Suit didn't reduce the damage you normally take, i get that in Remix Mode there is an Aeon ability that gives it to you but like... this was classic mode, a defense boost would have been nice.
3. Cutscenes need to be skippable after you've at least completed the game once.
4. I am not a huge fan of the upside down attack the Metroid Prime Essence deploys, its genuinely kinda annoying to deal with, i get thats the point but like... the fact i am unable to move my arm cannon in any other direction really ticks me off.
5. I wish there was an actual difficulty modifier (Easy, Normal, & Hard), although i get the feeling the route this game wanted to go for was more inline with like... how the NEStroid handled things? Where there were normally 1~3 variants of a single enemy that was either the weakest enemy you ever obliterated or the toughest opponent you have ever gone up against.
Anyways... thats about it when it comes to personal gripes, besides that, genuinely a great fangame.
ODDITY I'VE ENCOUNTERED IN ANOTHER PLAYTHROUGH THAT HAPPENED AGAIN IN THIS HERE PLAYTHROUGH:
I don't know why but sometimes the Boost Ball block to a missile expansion in Chozo Ruins will just... randomly open up??? I genuinely do not know what triggers it, but my theory is that it's the result of getting the Space Jump early that the game thinks you've gotten the boost ball and then just... randomly opens that spot up...? Its weird, because I think i've had it happen twice, one off recording & during this recording. Either way, it did help me get Missiles early & let me immediately go down to the right to obtain the Morph Ball.
