Forced to Mode pochodzi z Berlina. Dzisiaj to trzyosobowy zespół z Berlina: Christian Schotstädt — wokal, Thomas Schernikau — klawisze i wokal, oraz Matthias Kahra — gitara i wokal wspierający. Pierwsze wspólne covery zagrali na festiwalu „Depeche Mode Goes Rock”. nagrania trafiły do sieci, zobaczył je organizator innego festiwalu i zaproponował, żeby rozwinęli ten projekt. Dołączył do nich gitarzysta Matthias Kahra i tak powstało Forced to Mode. Zaczynali od kilku koncertów rocznie, dziś grają regularnie w wielu krajach. Słyną z dbałości o szczegóły i bardzo bliskiego oryginałowi brzmienia.

Forced To Mode comes from Berlin. The project was founded in 2011, but its story began a few years earlier. Christian Schotstädt and Thomas Schernikau met in 2006 while working at the same company. They quickly discovered that they were both huge Depeche Mode fans and both involved in music. In 2007, Christian joined Thomas's band, Forced Movement, as a vocalist. At the time, they played their own music. The breakthrough came in 2008, when they entered the Depeche Mode Goes Rock festival. They were supposed to perform three Depeche Mode songs. The performance was a success, and recordings from the concert later appeared online. And this is where a really interesting part of the story comes in: the organizer of the EBM festival found their recordings online and encouraged the musicians to turn it into a separate project. Guitarist Matthias Kahra joined Christian and Thomas, and that is how Forced To Mode was born. At first, they only played a few concerts a year, but over time the project continued to grow. Today, they are a three-piece band from Berlin: Christian Schotstädt on vocals, Thomas Schernikau on keyboards and vocals, and Matthias Kahra on guitar and backing vocals. They specialize in Depeche Mode's repertoire and are known for recreating the original sound with remarkable accuracy. Their repertoire includes not only the biggest hits, but also songs that Depeche Mode never performed live. They have already played more than 500 concerts in 18 European countries. They also put on themed concerts dedicated to specific albums, tours, or B-sides, as well as performances with an orchestra or string quartet. One interesting fact is that Christian and Thomas met at work and were both Depeche Mode fans. They played their first Depeche Mode covers together at the Depeche Mode Goes Rock festival. The recordings were uploaded online, an organizer of another festival saw them and suggested that they develop the project further. Guitarist Matthias Kahra joined them, and that is how Forced To Mode came into being. They started out with just a few concerts a year; today, they perform regularly in many countries. They are known for their attention to detail and for recreating the original sound very closely.
