The Mary Tyler Moore Show The Sue Ann bedroom scene! From "Sue Ann's Sister" Season 7, Episode 3

This video is of one of my favorite scenes from The Mary Tyler Moore Show, seen in the third episode of season 7, which was titled "Sue Ann's Sister." Brilliantly written by David Lloyd, WJM's Happy Homemaker Sue Ann Nivens (Betty White) is so upset that her younger sister (Pat Priest) will also be working in TV in Minneapolis that Sue Ann leaves the set of her show and rushes to her home, repairing to her bedroom. Several of the WJM News crew who were insensitive to Sue Ann's plight, Ted Baxter (Ted Knight), Murray Slaughter (Gavin MacLeod), and Lou Grant (Ed Asner) are rounded up by Mary Richards (Mary Tyler Moore) to visit Sue Ann's home to see if they can talk her into returning. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it, but hilariously prodded by Mary, each of the males has a priceless interaction with sexually-charged Sue Ann. And the final scene with good girl Mary is absolutely delicious. Easily some of the best comedy writing I've ever enjoyed (Lloyd won an Emmy for his Chuckles Bites The Dust TMTMS episode!), true to the characters and packing as many laughs as Sue Ann has devices in her boudoir. I've heard some fans rue the fact when Rhoda (Valerie Harper) and Phyllis (Cloris Leachman) left the show it became more about the newsroom than Mary's home life. But with such great characters and scenes like this, I think the show was equally, if not more, funny, in the final seasons. Copyright CBS, MTM Productions, or any other party.
