Gasherbrum II, also known as G2, stands at 8,035 metres and is one of the world’s highest mountains. This is the story of our 2026 Gasherbrum II expedition — from base camp and the acclimatization process to the summit push, setbacks, and finally reaching the top on our second attempt. What made this expedition especially memorable for me was the opportunity to climb alongside Nims Dai (Nirmal Purja) on Gasherbrum II. This was his last 8,000-metre summit before the Broad Peak accident, making the experience even more significant. To have the chance to share the mountain and climb beside someone whose achievements have changed modern high-altitude mountaineering was something I will always remember.
