Sermon Text: Revelation 11:1–14 Speaker: Pastor Luke Herche The word “amphibious” comes from the Greek for “double life,” describing something that combines two qualities or has two modes of living. A frog is an amphibian that can live on both water and land. The church, too, has a dual existence, having been raised up with Christ and seated in the heavenly places, yet still very much on earth. In this sermon on Revelation 11:1–14, John’s vision of the two witnesses, Pastor Luke Herche shows that the amphibious church is protected by God in heaven, yet persecuted by men on earth; empowered by the Spirit for its missionary work, yet opposed by earthly powers in that very work; seemingly defeated, the church will yet be raised and vindicated. Part of a series on the book of Revelation. From Sunday Worship, October 25, 2026. ------------------------------- allsoulspca.org All Souls (Urbana, IL) is a part of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), a Christian, Reformed denomination with historic and theological roots in the Protestant Reformation.
