Slow the Pulse and Listen Inward · nordic ambient dub for reflection

A very slow piece at 62 beats a minute, carried by a deep bass that thumps twice like a resting heartbeat, with no kick drum at all. A low bowed drone swells and fades the way a long breath does, and a dark, frozen synth pad hangs over everything. Wind moans in a chimney, and every sixteen bars a soft muted marimba touches two notes. Over the whole length the heartbeat slows down a little, and nothing else moves. A long low cedar hall frozen into a mountain lake at midwinter blue hour, with black glassy ice for a floor, walls of stacked clear ice and one slow amber glow inside.
