Goroka MP Calls for Police Stations and Highway Patrols Along Connect PNG Roads! The Member for Goroka has raised serious concerns about public safety and security along newly developed Connect PNG roads, including the road linking Alotau toward Central Province and the Kerema–Lae route. During Question Time in Parliament, the Goroka MP urged the Minister for Works and Highways to consider including police stations and highway patrol facilities in road construction contracts. He warned that improved road access could also create opportunities for illegal activities, including the movement of contraband and illegal substances. He explained that the government was considering how contractors could use their corporate social responsibility commitments to support highway patrol facilities, working together with the Police Department. Key points discussed: Police stations and highway patrols along major Connect PNG roads. Preventing illegal activities and improving public safety.
