Jacinda "Aliya Dalal" Award-Winning Belly Dance and Middle Eastern Cultural Dances Performer and Instructor based in Washington D.C., USA. Available for Performances and Instructions Nationally and Internationally. aliyadalaldance@gmail.com https://www.aliyadalal.com ------------------------------------------- Practice with me! As requested by a subscriber, here is a fun, follow-along drill for making your hip shimmies bigger, and more consistent! We first practice this drill while kneeling on our knees so that we can prevent our knees from powering the shimmy (that’s a different kind of shimmy that we’ll go over in a future video) and make sure that the hips are really moving. Next, we repeat the drill while standing. Hopefully you can feel the difference after practicing the first part! At first your hip movements may be small or jerky. It’s OK! Keep trying and you will get better and better at it! DISCLAIMER: Not all exercises presented here are suitable for everyone and are in no way a substitute for medical counseling.
