From the Streets of Tafo Nhyiaeso to the UAE top flight 🇬🇭 Samuel Amoako || ROOTS EP.01

Every player has a route. This is Samuel Amoako's. From a childhood in Tafo Nyhiaeso, Kumasi, to captaining sides across the UAE, Samuel Amoako's career has been shaped by one constant: faith. In this first episode of ROOTS, Samuel opens up about the ultimatum that made him choose football over school, the discipline of his early days at Charity Stars FC, the phone call that changed everything at halftime of a match, and what it means to carry Ghana's name abroad. This isn't just a football story — it's a testimony. ROOTS is an After90 original series going beneath the stats to trace where African footballers actually come from — the places, the people, and the beliefs that shaped them before the world ever saw them play.
