It is located to the west of Jiefang North Road and to the east of Haizhu North Road, intersecting with Liurong Road and Panfu Road. The road is 311 meters long and 10 meters wide. It is divided by Liurong Road, with the western section being a one-way street from east to west, and the eastern section being a one-way street from west to east. Bailing Road was originally Bailing Street, named after a nearby Temple of the Medicine King (Yaowang Temple) where it was said that prayers were "always answered" (Bailing). In 1933, Bailing Street was widened into a road and was named Bailing Road. On June 5, 1938, the area was bombed by Japanese aircraft. The first private middle school in Guangzhou was once located on this road. ———————— Guangzhou First People's Hospital, also known as the Second Affiliated Hospital of South China University of Technology and the Affiliated Shiyi People's Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, is a large-scale comprehensive Grade A Tertiary hospital located at 1 Panfu Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, China. The hospital was founded in 1899 by Dr. Adrain Clemons Greene, a medical missionary and educator from the Guangzhou Baptist Convention (Southern Baptist Convention, USA), and was originally named Pooi Oi Hospital. The hospital covers an area of approximately 63,000 square meters, with a construction area of 178,000 square meters, and is equipped with over 2,400 beds. It was among the first batch of designated medical insurance hospitals in Guangzhou and is renowned for its expertise in geriatrics, organ transplantation, minimally invasive surgery, and critical care medicine.
