Snowy 2.0 Project Update | Catching up with Florence!

TBM Florence is kicking some real goals deep beneath the Snowy Mountains, recently surpassing the 7km mark on her journey excavating Snowy 2.0's headrace tunnel! It's been a hard slog for Flo, negotiating some tricky terrain and conditions, but she's making some great progress and setting new records every month. As she continues her journey, servicing her becomes even more of a challenge - as the distance we need to travel to keep her fed and watered grows. But it's a challenge we are up for, and the team are doing an incredible job. Florence is heading from east to west, excavating her share of Snowy 2.0's 17km long head race tunnel, the waterway that will feed our massive underground power station. Coming from the west is TBM Monica, who will excavate through the Long Plain Fault zone before meeting with Florence. The two TBMs will then be disassembled and removed from the tunnels piece by piece. Keep goin' Flo!
