I always like to finish off a flank before changing direction, but the base was under threat. Plus we had 3 cruisers and a battleship against 2 battle ships. What could go wrong (Narrator: "Everything could go wrong"). So I pull back to get out of the crossfire and start focusing down the cruisers (The Scharnhorst comes back to haunt me! Wish I could have finished her!) And it's like the German Version of Stalin's hand reaching up and guiding shots to citadel after citadel. German Accuracy briefly returned from it's permanent holidays or retirement. So dd is in the cap, I have to charge her. She lays smoke, I missed the reload and continue to the smoke. I was going to use the smoke to turn and move away from the Island, when I realise the dd has doubled back and if I keep going I'll end up BEHIND her when she's expecting to catch my flank doubling back around the island. I was really worried going around the island, sure she'd pop up any second and I'd be on top of here. Come around she's 4km away and ducking behind an island. I fire, watch out for the torps! Then power on back to the cap circle. I lose her, pop the fighters knowing she'll come around the island and have another go at me. Reload just in time to finish her off then 146hp left and my secondaries are doing nothing! That's it, I've had it! THEN: New Mexico hammers her (Shout out, this player shot at everything I asked them to and helped me focus fire). I've looked after my HP, and I'm the higher tier with 8km secondaries, so it's my job to play forward (I always play aggressively but can't turn that off which is why I'm stuck at 54% win rate). We hammer the New York 6th and last kill. The Molatov is trying to burn me down and run but I have THAT SCHARNHORST in front of me, so I can't really give chase without giving Scharnhorst broadside, I try to close the distance to Scharnhorst in the hope I can get the Scharnhorst in the end. I look at the points and the clock, we are 1 point behind, then in front, then behind. 2 seconds to go, we jump in front.... WE'VE WON!!!! 00:01... THEY GET 2 POINTS!!! 00:00 it's over.
