Joseph Kennedy Despised His Own Daughter Rosemary - The REAL Reason Is SHOCKING

Rosemary Kennedy was 23 when her father authorized a lobotomy in November 1941. Her mother was not told beforehand. For more than twenty years afterward, most of the family did not know where she was. Many videos claim Joseph Kennedy despised his daughter. The record is more complicated. He paid for tutors, specialists, and schools, he wrote that she was thriving during her time in London, and he had a house built for her in Wisconsin. He also made the decision alone, kept it hidden, and never visited her there. This video follows the documented timeline: her birth in Brookline in 1918, the Devereux and Elmhurst school years, the London period when she did her best, the breakdown after the family returned to America in 1940, the operation in Washington, the move to St. Coletta, and the 1961 stroke that ended her father's control over what the family told the public. It also covers how Eunice's 1962 article led to the Special Olympics, and how President Kennedy's 1963 legislation on intellectual disability care traced back to Rosemary. The account draws on Kate Clifford Larson's biography of Rosemary, Laurence Leamer's The Kennedy Women, and Doris Kearns Goodwin's The Fitzgeralds and the Kennedys, along with statements from the surgeons and family members. Where the record leaves a question open, the video says so. If you want more stories like this one, subscribe and turn on notifications.
