*New E-Bell* UP 9047 Grain Train South - E. Forest Lake Road Railroad Crossing, Acampo CA

(Filmed March 8, 2026) I went out to Acampo this day after hearing that the WCH e-bell at E. Forest Lake Road was replaced with an NEG e-bell. It appeared the WCH bell died a second time and couldn’t be repaired. My first catch here was this southbound UP grain train. It met Amtrak 701 northbound at the nearby Acampo siding. The new e-bell sounded rather quiet and had a crack on its side that you can barely see. This crossing owned by Union Pacific is a UP late 1990s to early 2000s signal install with changes to its bells, gates, gate lights and a light on the close signal.
