Dharwad Left Out of Drought List has triggered strong protests and political pressure in Karnataka. Farmers and pro-Kannada organisations in Kundgol are expressing anger over the government’s decision not to include any taluk from Dharwad district in the drought-affected list. Recently, when CM DK Shivakumar visited Hubballi, Minister Santosh Lad reportedly appealed for Dharwad to be included in the drought list. Dharwad Rural MLA Vinay Kulkarni and Konareddy have also reportedly urged the government to take action and include the district. The government has already declared 101 taluks as drought-affected. However, no taluk from Dharwad district has been included in the list, leading to growing dissatisfaction among farmers and political leaders.
