11 years of infertility. One ruptured ectopic pregnancy. One tube removed. Three failed IUIs. Then came the clue that changed the treatment plan.
Farhanaaz, age 34, had a previous ruptured left ectopic pregnancy requiring salpingectomy. After years of infertility and 3 unsuccessful IUI cycles, her complete fertility evaluation also showed low ovarian reserve and hypothyroidism. Instead of simply repeating another IUI, the treatment strategy was reassessed and the couple proceeded to IVF/ICSI. Pasted text Pasted text
She conceived in the first ICSI cycle, and the ultrasound revealed two heartbeats. The pregnancy was then followed as a higher-risk twin pregnancy, ultimately reaching 37 weeks + 3 days, when two babies were delivered. Pasted text Pasted text
The key lesson from this case: after ectopic pregnancy or repeated IUI failure, don't look only at the tube. Reassess the whole fertility picture—age, ovarian reserve, tubes, sperm, uterus and time. Pasted text
Educational case discussion only. Individual fertility treatment must be personalised after complete evaluation.
