ICT Section 11 of 40 | Leaf-Spine Fabrics & Capacity A scalable fabric needs a traffic model and a surviving-capacity calculation, not just more ports. IN THIS TRAINING Relate two-tier leaf-spine connectivity to east-west and north-south workload paths. Count endpoint ports, uplinks, spine radix and forwarding resources under the enabled features. Calculate the teaching 2:1 oversubscription ratio and its rise to 2.4:1 after one uplink fails. Locate border, firewall and provider bottlenecks that additional spines may not relieve. EVIDENCE TO EXAMINE Normal/degraded traffic matrices, port calculations, queue measurements and application results. ENGINEERING CHALLENGE A leaf has 1,200 Gb/s of nominal downlinks and loses one of six 100 Gb/s uplinks. What traffic evidence is needed beyond the 2.4:1 ratio? Continue with Section 12: Routing, ECMP & Anycast. Follow the complete ICT playlist. Share the evidence behind your decision, and subscribe to continue the ICT engineering series. Use approved site designs, equipment documentation and operating procedures. Numerical cases are teaching examples. #ICT #DataCenter #NetworkEngineering
