Rockstar just published its biggest information drop in months: a 14-page cover story in Game Informer with twelve new screenshots and direct interviews with the designers of GTA 6. And most of it was about the weather.
Hurricanes and tropical storms are officially confirmed for Leonida. Weather is localized and persistent, so it can be pouring in the swamps while Vice City stays dry. There's a new cloud system, and wind is its own simulation: it moves your character's hair, picks up debris on rooftops, ripples the water and bends the grass in the swamps.
Then there's everything else from the article: a map roughly twice the size of GTA 5 with a focus on interiors, more than 170 animal species including over 60 types of birds, manatees, flamingos, pelicans and alligators, a screenshot that strongly hints hunting is back, activities from scuba diving to mini golf and zoos, and date activities between Jason and Lucia.
In this video we go through all of it, and I flag clearly which parts Rockstar confirmed and which parts are still speculation.
