The New ReSound Sensia hearing aids have impressive new features—but how well do they actually perform? After wearing them for several weeks, I think these are the best hearing aids ReSound has released so far. However, my experience with their AI noise reduction, streaming, and programming wasn’t quite what I expected. In this detailed ReSound Sensia review, I share what I liked, what disappointed me, and what you should consider before choosing these hearing aids. I’m Dr. Cliff Olson, audiologist and founder of Applied Hearing Solutions in Phoenix, Arizona. For this review, I tested the rechargeable ReSound Sensia microRIE 60S at the premium 9 technology level in everyday listening situations, noisy environments, workouts, and on a windy golf course. I explain ReSound’s Intelligent All-Around system, including AcoustIQ environmental classification, Intelligent Focus directional microphones, and Intelligent Noise Tracker deep neural network noise reduction. You’ll hear how the new processing compared with my experience using the previous-generation ReSound Vivia—and whether I noticed clearer speech in background noise. I also cover hearing aid styles, technology levels, cost considerations, battery life, charging, durability, receiver options, and fitting ranges. Then I take you inside the programming software and demonstrate Real Ear Measurement to show how these hearing aids matched hearing loss prescription targets in the fitting we tested. That demonstration highlights why individual verification matters. I encountered difficulty matching both soft and loud speech targets, while a colleague reported successfully matching those targets in another Sensia fitting. For connectivity, I share my streaming experience with an iPhone and a Samsung Galaxy S25, explain an Auracast compatibility limitation I encountered, and demonstrate the ReSound Smart 3D app and Apple Watch controls. I also discuss CROS compatibility for single-sided deafness, bimodal use with compatible Cochlear implants, and accessories such as the TV Streamer+ and Multi Mic+. My favorite features include the small size, attractive design, automatic DNN activation in the premium All-Around program, app controls, and feedback management. My main reservations involve streaming customization, the 10 frequency adjustment bands, compression adjustments, and the speech-in-noise improvement I personally perceived. Could the ReSound Sensia be the right hearing aid for you? Watch the full review for my verdict—and stay until the end for the ReSound marketing moment that made me laugh.
