Down to Bhangra Showdown 2026 - Sunehri

This is Sunehri performing at Down to Bhangra's Back to Our Roots Showdown 2026 on September 19, 2026 at the Coliseum Theatre in Rooty Hill, New South Wales, Australia. Unlike the competing teams at Back to Our Roots Showdown, Sunehri took the stage for a special solo performance, showcasing her passion for Punjabi dance and culture. While much of the evening was dedicated to friendly competition between teams, Sunehri's performance was a reminder that the stage is also a place for individual expression, confidence, and celebrating the joy of dance. Performing solo brings its own unique challenges. Without teammates sharing the spotlight, every movement and expression becomes an opportunity to connect directly with the audience. Stepping onto the stage alone takes courage, preparation, and a willingness to share something you love with others. Events like Back to Our Roots Showdown are about more than competition. They create opportunities for dancers of all ages and experience levels to build confidence, celebrate their progress, and stay connected to their Punjabi roots. Presented by Down To Bhangra (DTB), Australia's largest Bhangra academy, Back to Our Roots Showdown is one of two annual events organized by the academy. The event brings together students, families, and the wider community to celebrate Bhangra, Giddha, and the preservation of Punjabi culture through dance. Sunehri's solo performance was a wonderful addition to the evening, highlighting the importance of giving individual dancers their own moment to shine. This event also marked a special milestone for Gabroo Tv — our first time capturing Bhangra and Giddha in Sydney, Australia, expanding the Gabroo Tv archive to another part of the world. 🎥 Captured and presented by Gabroo Tv — the world's largest Bhangra and Giddha video library, serving and documenting the Punjabi folk dance community since 2004.
