Hidden face of Te Horokōau/ Mt Tasman New Zealand Alpine Ice Climbing

In October 2026 New Zealand Alpine Team Mentors made a rare repeat ascent of The Direct route on the Hidden Face of Te Horokōau/ Mt Tasman, New Zealand's second highest summit.This alpine ice climb is in a remote area of the Southern Alps. The pair found great conditions on the route and then challenging conditions, as is usual getting to the summit and down the NW shoulder.
