Sonic and the Secret Rings: Project Reignition is a fan-made remake of the 2007 Nintendo Wii game Sonic and the Secret Rings, rebuilding the adventure for PC with modern controls, updated visuals, refined gameplay mechanics, and numerous improvements over the original. Project Reignition was created by KumaPaws and the Project Reignition team as a complete reimagining of Sonic and the Secret Rings, preserving the original game's Arabian Nights setting and story while substantially modernizing the gameplay experience. ► GAME DESCRIPTION The story begins with Sonic napping. Upon awakening, he reaches over to check his clock but accidentally grabs a mysterious ring instead. Shahra, the Genie of the Ring, suddenly emerges from a book of the Arabian Nights and appears in Sonic's world. Shahra explains that her world—the world contained within the Arabian Nights—is vanishing. An evil spirit known as Erazor Djinn has begun freeing the inscriptions that make up its stories and absorbing the power of the book itself, causing its pages to turn blank and the world within them to disappear. Worse still, if the Arabian Nights is completely erased, Erazor will gain enough power to escape the book and enter Sonic's world. Believing Sonic to be the legendary blue hedgehog foretold to stop him, Shahra asks Sonic for his help in saving her world. Sonic agrees, and with Shahra's magic, prepares to enter the world of the Arabian Nights and confront Erazor. It is later revealed that Erazor was once the Genie of the Lamp from the story of Aladdin and the Magic Lamp. Long ago, he was punished for his misdeeds and sealed within his lamp, where he was condemned to remain until he had granted the wishes of one thousand people. Although Erazor eventually fulfilled his sentence and earned his freedom, the experience left him with a renewed hatred of humanity and resentment toward the fate that had been written for him. After gaining his freedom, Erazor began taking over the Arabian Nights. He twisted the words that formed its stories into spirits that obeyed his commands and began absorbing the book's contents, intending to gain absolute control over the entire world within it.
