Folkestone Music Town CIC interviewed Poynters Yard a four-piece metal-funk band.

Poynters Yard are a four-piece metal-funk band from Ashford, turning heads with bold, high-energy songs influenced by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, High Fade and Pearl Jam. Their distinctive blend of heavy riffs and infectious funk grooves leaves a lasting impression. In 2025, Poynters Yard were selected as winners of the Artist Development Programme, receiving a full package of support including songwriting, recording, marketing, branding, and a live showcase. As part of their win, the band released their standout track “Catch 22”, alongside two additional songs, all recorded at Seaview Studio in Folkestone. Feedback: Simon Coulson – Co-Founder, The Songwriting Academy: “Great dirty grunge rock — Green Day goes punk!” Dominik King – Broadcaster: “Rockin’! Love the attitude and rebellion. BTW, I don’t have a problem with you!” 🎧 Listen to Poynters Yard: https://open.spotify.com/artist/6J3ef...
