The 2nd part of my Back To Back MJ Video Game playthrus. This time this is the Sega Genesis version of the Moonwalker game, which is a Side Scroller Action Game similar to Sega's Shinobi Arcade Game. When I brought It back as a kid a felt a bit let down since I wanted the Arcade version, but it was still an ok game. Again it's similar to Shinobi where you move around from Level to Level in the Stages saving kidnapped kids and whatnot. It's single player instead of 3, and instead of using Energy Blast MJ using 'Pixie' Sparkle type attacks that comes out at the end of Kicks, Hand strikes and other MJ Dance type moves. You also get a Health Meter that can be used for Spin Attacks, Hat Tosses and the special 'Dance Attack' moves where most of the Enemies get into formation and Dance along to various MJ routines and songs. It was also a bit on the Easy side, I guess to appeal to the more Causal Gamers due to MJs fanbase.
It pretty much uses the same Music and follow the same Stage Themes from the Arcade Game (with a Cavern Stage thrown in with the Billie Jean Music) and the tunes were produced well (along with some of the speech synthesis) in the Genesis version due to the very good Sound Card it had at the time. Like I stated in the Arcade version, the only stage that didn't was the Cemetary/Zombie 'Woods' stage as it has 'Another Part of Me' instead of the appropriate 'Thriller' music. From what I've read MJ didn't completely own the rights of the song (due to Vincent Price's vocals) or something like that (MJ fully owed all of his Music and Publishing) so that's why it wasn't used in the game. But there is a Beta version of the game that when using the Dance Power Meter, it plays a snippet of Thriller. But I think it was removed from the Final Version. I got to go look it up for more details.
Here's the Full playthru, with only one live lost (at the end against that damn Mr.X Spaceship) and No Continues used on Normal Mode. Enjoy and Thanks 4 Watching!!!
