Why Am I Here? The Sikh Answer to the Meaning of Life

Why am I here and why do success, money, relationships and status never make us feel complete for long? In Episode 1 of Back to Basics, we explore the Sikh answer to the meaning and purpose of life. Before answering “Why am I here?”, Sikhi asks another question: “Who am I?” Try answering without your job, possessions, achievements or relationship status. What remains when those labels fall away? Through the image of a drop and the ocean, this video introduces the soul, ego, attachment and our connection to the One. We also explore the role of the Satguru, the True Guru, in helping us recognise who we are beneath the identities we spend our lives building. Which label do you find hardest to see beyond? Share your thoughts in the comments. If life is an opportunity to reconnect with the One, how do we begin? ▶ Next: Episode 2 - Liberation and the Satguru:    • Why Your Mind Can’t Free Itself | The Sikh...   ▶ Explore the Back to Basics playlist:    • Back to Basics   #MeaningOfLife #Sikhi #BackToBasics #PurposeOfLife #MeaningOfLife #Sikhi —————————————————— 🔴 Subscribe for more videos like this: https://bit.ly/2WFeDjG 🙏 Your monthly donation of just £5 or $5 can help spread the message of Guru Nanak Dev Ji: http://www.basicsofsikhi.com/donate 🎬 Watch our most recent videos:    / basicsofsikhi   ✉️ Want to get in touch?: info@everythings13.org —————————————————— 📖 Don't know how to read Gurmukhi (the Guru's script)?
