Cheap USB Camera for LightBurn: Brilliant Upgrade or Total Bodge?

Can a £16 USB camera make a diode laser easier to use? I fitted a budget wide-angle camera inside my laser enclosure, made a custom mount for it, then calibrated it in LightBurn to see whether it could actually help with placement. The aim was simple: see the full laser bed, place designs more accurately, waste less material — and hopefully get better engraving time-lapses for the channel too.
