!SPOILER AHEAD! Available after obtaining the Prince archetype and leaving the Elda Sanctum, and gaining access to 30 days to clear out the King's Castle, the Trial of the Dragon quests are given to you by Edeni and other Mustari NPCs. And the main Super boss, Redscale Dragon, is available only on NG+ and is accessed through the Book of Apocalypse in Akademia next to the scrolls. It is accessible the moment you gain access to Akademia. Do note you cannot access it during the last time you're in Akademia before the final battle against Louis. So do make a save before clearing out Tyrant's Star. Do note all dragons (except Elegy of the Souls) have Great Dragon's Wrath to buff their ATK by 3 stages, and Great Dragon's Shriek to gain 4 additional FULL Press turns. They also take 50% less damage from almighty, though Royal Sword from Prince still hits pretty hard. The Devourer of Nations is by far the easiest, located in the Forsaken Tower after gaining the Trial of the Dragon: Mad Mischief quest. It's the most straight forward, only having Physical and Fire skills alongside its Wrath and Shriek. Do not attempt to repel Fire skills unless you manage to implant a Fire weakness with Masked Dancer/Royal Masked Dancer, as it also Repels it and will straight up kill your party instead. Just keep up buffs & debuffs and hammer it with your hardest hitting attacks. Getting crits and striking weaknesses with implants (Wanton Destruction, Masked Dancer, etc.) are also important to gain extra actions. You can either employ Royal Knight or Royal Thief to eliminate its Press Turns with Omni-Counter and Noble Thief's Soul respectively. Next is the Devourer of Stars, found in the Tower of Insolence after obtaining the quest Trial of the Dragon: Bygone Legacy. It's whole gimmick revolves around setting every party member's HP to 300 and inflicting Poison and Hex to quickly chunk away at the reduced HP pool. As a bonus, it repels all elements except almighty, so either rely on the Prince as the main DPS or run Masked Dancer for the implants. It also has Roar for a 2x Debilitate on all party members. Do run ailment immunity skills/accessories or Instant Recovery to help cleanse the ailments with items or Pen Patra from Saviour, which Hulkenberg or the Knight Lineage is great for. Devourer of Flame is found in the Spire of Blind Faith upon obtaining the quest Trial of the Dragons: Heroes' Rest. Its whole gimmick revolves around dishing out Fire damage. Watch out for Burn Down, which deals the all-powerful 9999 (fire) damage. It will use this after reaching a certain HP threshold in which case use Hellfire dance from Masked Dancer and spam set up Makarakarn on everyone and it will practically kill itself. It's Bewitching Blaze can inflict charm so making someone immune to help cleanse is a big boon. Upon defeating all 3 dragons, you obtain the Trial of the Dragons: Essence of Power quest to take on the Elegy of the Soul in the Dragon Temple. Being a clone of the protagonist, it has access to skills from each party member's main Archetype lineage. Cycling through the order in which party member you obtaining starting from Seeker. It also has Armageddon's Final Sire to deal Almighty 9999 damage to punish any Repel gear/accessories. It can also use Hero's Cry to gain 4 half press turns to buff, debuff and attack. So having Royal Knight/Thief to take away all those turns is crucial. Otherwise, its the usual, keep track of buffs and debuffs and utilize crits/weaknesses (via implants) for more actions. The true super boss, Redscale Apocalypse Dragon, has a combined moveset of all 3 Devourer dragons plus extra. Its main gimmick is ill Wind which is also an insta-lose condition if you run Repel equipment or upon reaching a certain HP threshold and allowing it to live. And instead of Shriek, it has Dragon's Contempt which will grant it 2 additional press turns for that turn but subsequently, it increases the base number of press turns it gets by 1 afterwards, and it stacks and is used randomly, meaning you're on a timer and your aim is to end the fight ASAP before it ramps up. Plus it gets more turns as its HP gets lower. Since it gains so many turns, Royal Knight/Thief is the main build around once again. Keep track of buffs and debuffs, have some form of insurance against ailments, and try to land crits or implant weaknesses. Preferably striking weakness as its the highest leveled enemy at 99 which means its higher Luck stat will reduce your chances of criting even with Spirit of Adversity + maxed out Diligent Discipline + a Crit Rate buff unless you're willing to grind to Lv99 yourself.
