The Mercedes-AMG GT SUV is here — and it is the most powerful SUV AMG has ever built. Developed entirely in-house by Mercedes-AMG in Affalterbach on the new AMG.EA platform, this all-electric performance SUV was created for one reason: to take on the Porsche Cayenne Electric. In this Motor Vanta video, we take you through the full story of the new Mercedes-AMG GT SUV. We start with its bold exterior design, including the illuminated Panamericana grille, three-pointed-star daytime running lights and six circular taillights, then step inside the driver-focused cabin with its 10.2-inch instrument display, 14-inch central touchscreen, AMG Race Engineer controls, SKY CONTROL panoramic roof and available Burmester High-End 4D sound system. Then we get to the numbers everyone is talking about. The GT 53 produces 544 horsepower, the GT 55 produces 816 horsepower, and the flagship Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SUV delivers 1,169 PS (1,153 hp) and 2,000 Nm of torque from three axial-flux electric motors, with a claimed 0-100 km/h time of just 2.7 seconds. We also cover the 106 kWh and 128 kWh battery options, the claimed WLTP range of up to 700 km, and the headline charging performance — up to 710 kW DC charging, with a claimed 10-80% charge in around 11 to 12 minutes under ideal conditions. Plus, we explain AMG Active Ride Control+, rear-wheel steering, and the AMGFORCE Sport+ system that recreates a V8 soundtrack from more than 1,600 recorded sound files. Watch until the end for the price and availability breakdown — including the German starting price, the expected US launch timing, and why the official US pricing is still an estimate — and our final verdict on whether this electric AMG can really beat the Cayenne Turbo Electric. Would you choose this 1,153-hp electric Mercedes-AMG GT SUV over the Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric, or do you still want a real V8? Tell us in the comments below. Performance, range and charging figures are manufacturer claims (WLTP where stated) and may vary in real-world use. #MercedesAMG #AMGGTSUV #ElectricSUV
